I used to love Casey Kasem. Somehow he managed to make listening to crappy top 40 songs, seem fun and exciting. Long distance dedications? Yes, please.
We used to post a monthly roundup of our favorite music from the previous month. The problem is that we’ve been getting overwhelmed. Between the promos that labels have started sending us (sorry, I refuse to suck up to this Vampire Weekend side-project. Are we the only ones that find this even more boring than listening to A-Punk for the zillionth time?), and the demos random bands send to us (which we love, btw. We’ll never be to high and mighty to not listen to your demos….the bad news is you have 15 seconds to impress us. Sorry, time is money! chop, chop!). So we thought it would be best to use our fancy new website to start rolling out a weekly list of our “TDOA’s Top 10″ (cue cymbal crash). We’re also able to include links so that you may purchase any of these records once you regain consciousness after being stunned by their awesomeness. When we actually learn how to drive this silly website, we’ll even make the links look pretty and have pictures….and stuff. I’m not sure of the technical explanation for how all this works, but to the best of my understanding, click on things and stuff will happen.
