Thus begins our attempt to bring you news that isn’t covered by “the cool kid” websites. Here you’ll find the latest news about the bands we’ve interviewed in the past or are “on our radar”. Our goal is to avoid the over-reported stories on topics like the Kings of Leon clothing line or the latest Bono rant. Instead, these are primarily indie bands that aren’t covered by the big boys….. but should be. Quick news for you to scan, with the option to follow links that’ll give you more detail.

Aqualung have almost completed their new record. With 12 songs in the can and a tentative title, ‘Magnetic North’ and release date 30th March 2010 we’re hoping for greatness.

The Psychedelic Furs reunion has apparently ended with an announcement this morning that they were breaking up again. BTW, repeated attempts to interview members of the band were ignored by the label. Bad management or a band that didn’t want to do interviews? You make the call. We didn’t find a single article/interview in the U.S. about the winter of ’09 tour…

I used to love Casey Kasem. Somehow he managed to make listening to crappy top 40 songs, seem fun and exciting. Long distance dedications? Yes, please.

We used to post a monthly roundup of our favorite music from the previous month. The problem is that we’ve been getting overwhelmed. Between the promos that labels have started sending us (sorry, I refuse to suck up to this Vampire Weekend side-project. Are we the only ones that find this even more boring than listening to A-Punk for the zillionth time?), and the demos random bands send to us (which we love, btw. We’ll never be to high and mighty to not listen to your demos….the bad news is you have 15 seconds to impress us. Sorry, time is money! chop, chop!). So we thought it would be best to use our fancy new website to start rolling out a weekly list of our “TDOA’s Top 10″ (cue cymbal crash). We’re also able to include links so that you may purchase any of these records once you regain consciousness after being stunned by their awesomeness. When we actually learn how to drive this silly website, we’ll even make the links look pretty and have pictures….and stuff. I’m not sure of the technical explanation for how all this works, but to the best of my understanding, click on things and stuff will happen.
