We been talking up An Horse for a while now (I counted four different references in the past month).  Now the news comes that they’ve been booked to appear on David Letterman on Wednesday night.  Set your Tivo….set the DVR of your choice….set the VCR….set the Beta recorder….buy several more televisions….make sure you have Dolby surround throughout your house.  Pop some popcorn, watch it live and then watch it repeatedly afterwards.  Make notes of the advertisers that have ads before and after the An Horse appearance.  Thursday morning, go to the store and buy one case of everything those sponsors were promoting.

….and enjoy.  You’re going to be able to tell everyone you remember when you saw An Horse’s first appearance on US television!

It’s so nice to see the rest of the world catching up to us every once in a while…..

Some people don’t remember Letterman’s NBC days when his show was frequently chaotic and defined comedy in many ways during the 80′s.  Since he moved to the 11:30 slot on CBS (I’m worried about you, Conan) he mellowed out.  We’ve talked about the great Andy Kaufman appearances on Letterman.  Here are some other great chaotic clips from NBC Letterman.

Phoenix is a wildly talented actor (Walk The Line anyone?) and this is clearly a put-on.  The discussion this morning should be about how brilliant the two were last night.  Letterman was as quick as I’ve seen him in years and was clearly inspired by Phoenix’s performance.  Bravo!

We’ve discussed the “suckiness” of Coldplay before.  So, we’re thrilled to here that they’re going to get served this weekend (via Huffington Post )which has a great side by side video to boot!).  Can the person in charge of this please wait and see if they win an award at the Grammy’s.  I would pay money to watch them get served on live television while excepting a Grammy for their crap album.  I remember being outraged when the Stones sued The Verve for ripping off a riff.  But I going to be a hypocrit and say that I hope Coldplay makes Joe Satriani a very rich man.  Number of Satriani albums in my collection? Zero.

Rush Limbaugh has a job, but Steve Jones is unemployed (via LA Times)?  Outfreakingrageous!

If your a fan of Paul’s Boutique, you need to read this (via Pitchfork).  Why are the Beasties the first band to figure out a way to fight piracy?  They may be my poster child for the fight against TDOA.
